About Me

The Art of Storytelling

I was the kind of kid who would stay up till 3 a.m. under a blanket with a flashlight and a good book. I’ve always loved stories, and that hasn’t changed as I’ve gotten older.

Growing up, I was passionate about History. But when I left home for Hillsdale College I told my parents I wanted a degree in business – they said I’d end up majoring in History. They were right.

As a freshmen at Hillsdale College, my love of stories kept me coming back to Monday assignment meetings at the Collegian office. Journalism didn’t just promise competency in AP Style – it promised to teach me how to bring people to life on a page.

Now that I have graduated I’m ready more than ever to begin telling stories with The American Spectator.
